>June 2010 - Complex Systems Now provide PAT Testing
We are pleased to announce that in addition to all of the services we currently offer we have added PAT (Portable Appliance Test) testing to our portfolio. Prices per appliance from £0.95. Free Repairs
Minor faults found during the inspection will be repaired as we find them and the appliance re-tested. All minor repairs are carried out free of charge. Call us today to arrange PAT testing for your business.

In these harsh economic conditions the last thing a business needs is the high cost of repairing or replacing their computer equipment when it breaks down. Take advantage of our Business Support Packages.

Option 1: For only £5 per week (£6.25 for laptops) get your computer covered for all hardware repairs and replacement parts. If we can't repair it we'll replace it!

>May 2010 - Complex Systems Annual Holiday Closure Dates
Well its thats time of year again where the staff at Complex Systems get a well earned break - well most of them! The closure dates and details are as follows:

May 29th Workshop & Retail Shop Closed
June 7th Retail Shop opens for shop sales and repair collections and drop offs.
June 14th Workshop & Retail Shop opens for business as usual

We hope to see you all either on the 7th when a different face will be manning the shop or on the 14th when Steve will be back to handle your queries as per usual.

Complex Systems are pleased to announce that we are now Bitdefender partners so if you are looking to secure your computer from malware and virus threats call in and speak to us.

>March 2010 - Shop Closure - Saturday March 13th All Day & JOB VACANCY
We will be closed on Saturday March 13th due to a family wedding. This brings us on to another topic - we are looking for a person to work initially Saturdays in the shop. It will involve a variety of tasks and the number of days you will be required to work are likely to increase. You must have a current UK driving licence, and have the ability to learn things quickly. For further information and to discuss the role please call in to the shop Tuesday-Friday 0900-1500.

>February 2010 - Bogus Microsoft Support Calls
We have received many calls from customers reporting that a company claiming to be connected to Microsoft have telephoned them out of the blue asking questions about their computers. Normally the person is of Indian sounding accent and says something along the lines of "we have noticed your computer running slowly would you like us to fix it for you". They say many variants of this and if you allow them to they will connect remotely to your computer. At the end of the remote access, they will advise of "issues" with your computer which they can resolve for a fee. This is either a 'one off' fee or can be a monthly subscription.

This is a bogus company and you should under no circumstances allow them access to your computer remotely and certainly never give your card or bank details to them. If you are already being pestered by them please feel free to give them our telephone number to call us 0870 471 1496. If you have given them card or bank details - contact your bank or card issuer immediately and advise them. If you have allowed them access to your computer we would advise you book your computer for a healthcheck with us to ensure that your computer's security has not been compromised. Quote "Bogus Support Call" at the time of booking your computer for a healthcheck and we will give you £10 off the normal price of a healthcheck. This offer is valid until May 1st 2010.

>January 2010 - Severe Weather Information
Complex Systems is currently operating as normal with the exception to onsite visits. Road conditions permitting we are able to service our callouts. However, if you live on or near an untreated road it may not be possible to get to you. If this is the case we will get to you as soon as possible. >January 2010 - Complex Systems Announces Discount Schemes
For the New Year Complex Systems has decided to grant OAPs & Students 15% off all products and services (excluding PCs, laptops & netbooks). To obtain the discount at the time of purchase you must produce suitable proof - such as a Student Card etc. A company spokesperson said its our way of helping out in the credit crunch. If you take a typical repair at £49.40 inc it will now only cost OAP's & Students £42.08 inc.



>December 2009 - CHRISTMAS OPENING HOURS
We will be open until 4pm Christmas Eve - 1pm if its quiet in town
We Re-open on Tuesday 29th December and remain open upto and including New Year's Eve on which we close as per Christmas Eve's hours.
We reopen for business as usual on Tuesday 5th January 2010.

>August 2009 - Complex Systems signs ILEX Technology as its Repair Centre
Complex Systems have recently announced that they will be outsourcing their repairs to their sister company ILEX Technology.
Complex Systems' Technical Director Stuart Wilson said "We would like to reassure any existing customers that as with Complex Systems the repairs will be of the very highest standard with customer satisfaction our primary focus. We felt there was a need to move our repair centre offsite due to space constraints in our retail outlet at Tewkesbury. Ilex Technology already repairs business equipment and is very well equipped to handle our customer's repairs in a very efficient manner. This will be completely transparent to our customers in both cost and speed".

>March 2009 - New Virus Expect on April's Fool Day
Conficker.C variant is likely to generate up to 50,000 URLs every day.The third variant of the Conficker virus is set to activate in infected machines on April 1st.
According to Computer World, this latest virus is the third in a series of modules that behaves more like a Trojan than a self-propagating Worm.
It is an aggressive program that provides protection to infected machines from anti-virus and security software.
The worm generates masses of URLs to cover the tracks of the virus’ controller and to allow the controller to issue commands to infected machines.


>March 2009 - Complex Systems - Evesham Technology
Many previous customers of the now closed Evesham Technologies are unaware that their "Evesham" laptops were not in fact made by Evesham but were simply re-badged Laptops made by Mitac, MSI or Clevo. Since 1999 we have been repairing and sourcing spares and upgrades for Mitac, MSI and Clevo laptops.
